1987: Birth of a new concept – SANLAAP. 1989: Situational Analysis on the lives of girl children in Red Light Areas of West Bengal by Indrani Sinha. 1991: First financial support from outside for SANLAAP. 1992: First Drop in Centre (DIC) for the children of Red Light Areas in Kolkata.

1993-1996

1993: SRIJONI- Initiation of income generation program. 1995: Stay Order for eviction of Women & Children from Red Light Areas of West Bengal. 1996: SNEHA developed as an Observation Home under J.J. Act, 1986. 1996: Mental Health Intervention Programme started at SNEHA. 1996: SANLAAP’s legal aid programme (SALAH) initiated . 1996: Repatriation process initiated for survivors of trafficking from Nepal and Bangladesh.

1997-2001

1997: SANLAAP received Bal Kalyan Purashkar from the Hon’ble President of India. 1997: Dance Movement Therapy (SANVED) introduced at Sneha. 1997: JONAKI – Publication of Newsletter in English. 1998: ICDS introduced in Red Light Areas for the first time in West Bengal. 1999: Child Protection Unit for Community Based work (SANJOJAN). 1999: Involvement of Youth and Young Adults. 2000: Awarded as the Women’s Organisation of the Year by the National Commission for Women. 2000: Started Reintegration, Restoration and Repatriation of Survivors. 2001: Initiated training of members of Panchayati Raj Institution.

2002-2003

2002: SUNDAR formed for the Women of Red Light Area to combat challenges. 2002: Initiated training of Block-level Government officials. 2002: First set of psychosocial rehabilitation of girls at Sneha. 2002: Working girls’ hostel begun specially for our girls. 2003: UNMIK invited Ms Indrani Sinha to address the issue of post-war trafficking in Kosovo. 2003: Engaged in the action plan for SWADHAR and Rehabilitation Programme.

2004: Initiated Community Based Organisations in 9 districts. 2004: SAMVAB – a Centre for Young Adults. 2004: Youth of SANLAAP performed at the International Dance Therapy Event in USA. 2005: First recipient of SWADHAR Scheme promoted by Ministry of Women &Child Development. 2005: 87 Child Protection Units facilitated in 9 trafficking prone districts of West Bengal. 2005: SANLAAP initiated Income Generation Programme with Corporate Houses and National Bank. 2005: SANLAAP recognized as Facilitator to train Police and CID officials. 2005: First Training by SANLAAP for SSB.

2006-2008

2006: Formal School formed for the girls of SNEHA. 2006: Youth-Led Advocacy initiated. 2006: Short stay home of 3 CBOs developed with the support of SANLAAP. 2006: Ms Indrani Sinha selected as Member of Committee by the Govt. of Maharashtra. 2006: Sanlaap facilitated formal and non-formal education in West Bengal. 2007: SANLAAP is one of the key members in developing the SOP.2007: Nominated in 1000 Peace Women Award. 2008: The first CWC at South 24 Parganas started at SNEHA. 2008: Children of SNEHA joined Loreto Day School. 2008: Indrani Sinha was selected as the member of the West Bengal Taskforce.

2009-2010: Release of the publications by the Consul General of USA and Hon’ble Chairperson. 2009-2010: International Film Star Lindsay Lohan visited SNEHA. 2009-2010: Aparajita movement started in India and Bangladesh. 2011-2012: Conviction… 2011-2012: Skill development of CSO. 2013-2014: SANLAAP’s initiatives on Reintegration and mainstreaming recognised by INGOs.
