As known to all of you our beloved Founder Director Ms Indrani Sinha (lovingly known as Indrani di) left for her heavenly abode on 22nd of August 2015. We are organising a memorial service on 31st August 2015 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dr. Triguna Sen Auditorium, Jadavpur University Campus, Kolkata and we would be highly obliged if all our friends, colleagues and well wishers could attend the memorial service to remember our beloved Indrani di.
We are really grateful to those who reached out to us with condolences at this hour of grief. We are completely overwhelmed with your love for Indrani di and the Sanlaap family.
Sanlaap and the American Centre organised a half day consultation on "Youth Against Gender Violence" today at the Lincoln Hall, American Centre. Indrani Di was really excited about this program and we at Sanlaap wanted to pay our homage to Indrani di by making this program a success as this was the last program Indrani Di had planned before she left us all. Esteemed guests such as Ms. Vivian Huelgo who is the Chief Counsel to the Task Force on Human Trafficking and Commission on Domestic Violence of the American Bar Association, Mr. Satya Gopal De of CRY, Mr. Bapaditya Mukherjee from Prantakatha, Prof. Ishita Mukhopadhyay from Dept. Of Women's Studies, University of Calcutta contemplated and discussed on the issue and several youth participants attended the program. As known to all of you, we lost our mentor, our guide, our Founder Director Ms. Indrani Sinha to a massive heart attack on the 22nd of August at around 11.40 p.m. Indrani Di was a wonderful person, a dedicated social activist, an incredible leader and a great visionary.
